Money Sick

They don’t know what to do.  I get there, and I believe someone has an ounce of creative intellect, but I am so far beyond them they do not know what to do.  As I have always been far beyond them.  Did you know years ago I used to subscribe to The New York Times because I wanted to connect, learn, and know what was going on in the world beyond my own street corner.

I need to supplement my income.  Anyone know of another job I can get?  Part-time or another full-time job that will allow me financial freedom?  I shouldn’t still be making the same wage I made when I was 17 years old.

I am sick of the competing mothers and fathers and management.

I do not care about previous rules.  Abolish all previous rules.

I need to un-plug this brain.  You do not take into account how much time it takes to feel un-plugged from.

I have steeled my heart against you David Wolfe because of Courtney because of these last going on six years – I have steeled my heart against you.

Worried About Money

Just like always worried about money.  This bankruptcy is the most expensive thing I’ve ever been a part of.  Do you know that I was told not to file for bankruptcy back in January 2015 because I was going to be paid soon.  And these people wonder why I don’t believe in them.

Tired all the time.  Don’t want to get out of bed tired.  Tired of blowing my nose.  Tired of living this life that is not my own.  Tired of having to drive by David’s old apartment every day.  Tired of living off of junk because it is all I can afford.  Tired of being hungry and dirty all the time.  Tired of having to yell and scream and be mad all the time.  Tired of not being able to have decorations without them looking back at me. 😦

I have no idea why I had to change cable carriers.  I have no idea why I had to get new computers.  I have no idea why I had to get new mouse pads.  Tired of living like this. 😦

For The First Time

I wrote this back in 2012, I tried to get it published.  I have yet to succeed.  I was doing a lot of writing in my head while I was caring for my mother.  It was very difficult organizing my writing, editing, and so on – all in my head.  I don’t want this piece to be confused with my Bill Cosby Forever moment piece because of the title and repetition of  introspection.  I almost changed the title and edited some things out just to keep it from being confused.  But, I decided against it.

There is some creative license I’ve used in writing this.  It is not a play by-play, everything did not occur in its exact order, it is not a verbatim literal account of events.  It is merely a piece I wrote to understand and appreciate myself and humanity in this cruel world where a person’s life can be forever changed in an instant.

Pushing on the bar that ran the width of the glass door, which led to the outside, the door remained as I found it, unopened.  Holding onto that bar I leaned back all the way to the soles of my feet and rocked on my heels, with the momentum I gave an effusive push and opened the door wide with room to spare.  Free from the door, I walked outside.

I stood in a courtyard of squared concrete, the sun had shifted in the sky leaving long-fingered shadows, yet keeping the heat and swallowing me with the humidity.  A wooden pergola stood in the middle to offer shade for the concrete picnic table full of picnickers invisible from sight.  Hard rectangle slabs of concrete formed benches that surrounded the courtyard where no one sat.  From behind I heard, “Here she is.”  The nurse had brought my mother in her wheelchair.  I told the nurse, “She likes to be outside.”  The nurse looked me in the eyes, but said nothing, and walked away.

She sat in her wheelchair complete with a headrest to keep her head stable.  Pillows had been positioned in the seat to keep her from slumping to one side or the other.  Her PEG-tube, which for some reason was a good four feet extending from her stomach, had been coiled and neatly tucked into her elastic waist band knit pants.  The left side of her lower lip dragged down and allowed saliva to escape and form a tiny pool at the corner of her mouth not much larger than a tear drop.  I still had not gotten used to this newly altered state of my mother’s once perfectly precise and put together appearance.

My mind wandered back to the moment in the kitchen and the image now burned into my brain that replayed on a never-ending loop I couldn’t stop and caused my whole body to seize with terror, my muscles to contract and stiffen as if awaiting an expectant blow.  I knew the moment it happened; I had been at work diligently pounding out the tasks that allowed me to be employed, then something stopped, quietly and without words, I knew, yet did not know, nor did I know what to do.  A persistent pull like a child’s tug at her mother’s skirt hem never left my mind or heart until I finally left work, early and unsure.  When I arrived at my mother’s home, the window in the front porch which allowed welcome guests access into the home’s hub, the kitchen, I saw.  I dropped everything in my hands, even my keys, fumbling to recover the keys and searching for the one key that opened the front door, my heart beat wildly out of control and all I heard was the boom of my blood pumping out of my heart and filling my ears with cacophonous explosions.  I ran into the kitchen taking note of her glasses neatly folded one arm under the other lying upright on the opened oven door, not the door to the large oven that could cook a turkey but the small oven door on top that was used to cook gingersnaps and sugary snickerdoodles, I found my mother lying face down on the over-sized ceramic tile floor.

“Stroke”, the doctor told me with the grace of an East German Olympic athlete during the Cold War, with one word the doctor reduced the whole of my mother, her intelligence, her wit, her beauty, her soul, into a non-thing, a word which was to replace all other adjectives I had ever believed and known about her before.  “I can show you the CAT-Scan, “ the faceless doctor insistently urged in his cold metallic manner because he perceived my reaction as disbelief.  He tried to placate me by placing his fine un-calloused hand on my shoulder; all I felt from him were the flimsy textbook pages from which he had studied for years and the coolness with which he understood it all.  I turned my head and thinned my lips, and with everything in me I resisted the impulse to snap his arm off from his shoulder.

The stroke left one side of her body unable to remember how to work and function, how to step and walk, how to grasp and release, how to chew and swallow, but the real war lay buried deep behind countless steel doors, one shut upon the other, all different sizes, shapes, configurations, and a constant search to find the master-key.  Connections in her brain were severed, blocked, malfunctioning, out-of-order, round pegs in square holes trying to find how to fit together again.  She spoke in single words, not in sentences and only sometimes, you had to be there for it to happen because she was not able to repeat it again.  Her hearing was intact, yet the device that allows us all to comprehend and perceive words out of the noise and sounds that fill our ears, was lost.

The air lay stagnant inside the courtyard, I feel the long shadow from the oak tree just beyond the courtyard slice me with its generous shade leaving my feet to be the only part of me lit in the falling sunlight.  I search my mother’s face trying to remember who she was before the metal chair she is sitting in, before her lying face down on the over-sized ceramic tile floor, when she was strong and so capable and like a superhero to me with her ability to find a solution to every single problem I encountered, and I feel myself failing, the crispness of her body has already started to fade, blurring, the edges are no longer traced with a black line.  I begin to wonder who we really were to one another.  She is my mother and I am her daughter, but we weren’t always friends or even friendly at times just like most mothers’ and daughters.  I feel a strange sensation not like nostalgia grip me in the small tidy corners of myself where I keep the stories I never tell anyone neatly tucked away.

Parts of me covered in shadow are begging to speak, to know, to understand, to tell and share secrets, I don’t feel the desire to reminisce about how my mother would help me fall asleep when I was scared or too excited to want to lie still by taking her finger and tracing a letter on my back and I would guess the letter and eventually the word, or how she taught me to bake bread by kneading the dough with the heel of my hand, or the time she physically shoved me into the room where the Drama club was meeting and slammed the door, forcing me to overcome my irascible shyness and bring out my gregarious giggles that I barely showed anyone.  I want to share with her about the times we didn’t talk to one another.

I remember when puberty came and stole the simple and unaffected language we used with each other.  My first love was a hard one for my mom to accept.  I fell in love with black eyeliner.  I felt the gap begin to open between us the first day I left for school with my love circled eyes.  Black eyeliner and I were soul mates finally discovering each other, and black eyeliner soon became the only friend I would speak to, confide in, and share secrets with, leaving my mother out.  Quickly followed were the years of flirting with boys trying to figure out that dance, but never really succeeding, or understanding all the dance steps and I soon became convinced that my dutiful and faithful mother’s words, I love you, were merely the words of an actor playing their role.  The rebelliousness of teenage years left a distance between my mother and I that grew into a wide ravine awaiting a flash flood.

Then the day came when he walked into a room and I smiled at him like the little girl I still was, he said he loved me, so I left home for him because I thought this is how I start my own life, and as fast as I walked out the door, I fell away from everything I had ever known.  The next two years I spent moving, always moving away.  I moved seven times because I had to move because his love was a love that hurts.  I found myself walking one day when I saw a police station.  I stopped for a moment staring at the police station on the other side of the street when I decided right then, I could not go in, I turned and went the other way, and just as the police station left my periphery I felt the white-hot metal pour its liquid lava over me, starting at my head, washing over me in waves until it reached my toes and into the ground.  I felt it cauterize every pore, every organ, and every cell to the depths of my soul, and then I kept walking because I knew that was the only way to survive.

Once I was able to walk back to my mother and try talking to her again, I could never tell her my shame and why I always, always, always looked over my shoulder.  It kept a space between use physically and emotionally, yet she was still my dutiful and faithful mother who told me she loved me.

A tiny lizard hurriedly crossed the courtyard and stopped almost dead in front of me; I squatted down to get a better look at him.  His eye tilted upward to get a better look at me.  I turned my gaze toward the interior of the courtyard studying the harsh landscape when I heard my mother say, “I love you.”  She had only spoken about a dozen words in the nearly forty days since her stroke, yet the moment she spoke I dismissed her precious words like one swats away a buzzing fly.  My mind was still concentrating and consumed with myself and what I wanted to say and how could I possibly tell or share anything with my mother anymore when I stopped just for a moment and felt something shift in the deepest part of me, an un-stumbling of blocks, of sands shifting.

My mother, the last person in the world I had left who loved me, yet I ignored and distrusted her and her words.  Then, without warning, I felt a trickle of a thought, who had my mother been before she was my mother?  I knew what she had been, a child, a daughter, a teenager, a young adult, but who had she been?  Did she have dreams that never came true, had she known disappointment, sorrow, hurt, pain, joy beyond motherhood, happiness without regret, blind passion, unbearable forgiveness, sweet satisfying sex, a tender touch that melts the world away?  Had I ever really looked at her beyond the fact of being my mother?  Had I ever loved her beyond being my mother?  Sometimes isn’t that why we say, “I love you” to fill in the gaps that we can’t yet reach?  We know those gaps and spaces exist, yet we fill the holes with those three words until we can mend our own wounded gaps, fill the spaces, or acknowledge our own tidy corners.

Suddenly, for the first time what I heard was not simply, I love you, what I heard was I see you, I believe in you, I see you.  I understood my mother for the first, I began to know my mother for the first time, I started to glimpse my mother for the first time.  I fell to my knees with tears streaming, trying to place all my emotions and hold on to my newly softened understanding, and I felt a sloughing off of all that dead skin I had held so tightly that I never realized had deformed me, the deadened tangled nerves, a labyrinth of dead ends I created to keep anyone including myself from finding, me.

I walked over to my mother, I gently brushed away the hair from her forehead, and I kissed her cheek and said, knowing even as I said these words that she could hear me, but she would not understand me, “I love you.”

I stepped behind her wheelchair, grabbed a hold of the handles and rocked back on my heels and pushed until the wheels in the wheelchair began to move as I pushed her inside.

My Journal

I had a journal that was given to me that I never used for years.  Then, I became a reader –  a story for another time – I found myself in love with words, sentences, and the ability to create with words.  I came across this quote:

“We all flow from one fountain Soul.  All are expressions of one love.  God does not appear, and flow out, only from narrow chinks and round bored wells here and there in favored races and places, be He flows in grand undivided currents, shoreless and boundless over creeds and forms and all kinds of civilizations and peoples and beasts, saturating all and fountainizing all.”  – John Muir

It’s mind boggling!  How does a person create sentences like that from letters and words?!  I wanted to know more about John Muir to find out how a person can create something that can stand the test of time, that can still be true years and years after it was published, that is so compelling and complete it exists on its own merit.

I found words I had never met before or knew, so I would underline them and look them up after I finished reading.  Now, my journal had a purpose.  As a way of learning and retaining what I’ve learned I write it down.  It’s a visual aid, it helps me place it my brain.  Plus, I used it as a reference when I started writing myself.

It was a flocked brown journal with gold embossed horses on the cover and it became my word journal.

Another Sick And Lonely Year

Yeah, yeah, I did not forget about Marion Cotillard and Paul Giamatti as lawyers I went to see.

Or, Kathy Lee Gifford as the bank teller, or – God, was that Madonna in the pawn shop…I could go on and on and on and on and on, and I will.  But, I am FUCKING SICK and I don’t feel good!

Who’s gonna pay my fucking bills!

Another year and no decorations!  Another year of being sick and sitting alone in a dark square.

I will probably repeat this again in another posting – yep, I was wearing my Clarkson boots when I spoke with Kathy Lee Gifford, I think she was also a Dr. Kelly look-alike at Target – do you know, I actually started a writing series as a way to say Thank You to everyone who took time out there schedule to see and talk to the ordinary little me.  Until, my hands which broke something in me – again.  😦

Declassified Files: A Series Of True Events Being Brought To Light

July 1, 2017

Flip-flops,

I want creative control.  I believe it is about fucking time I received the right and ability to have creative control over this non-secret       experience!

I am still so angry, hurt, and depressed because of the violation of my home.

Regardless of the path I take there should be no one with the ability to enter my home.

I want the Sherlock-figure-it-out problems to cease immediately.  There is no excuse for purposefully infecting someone with a virus.  Especially after specifically stating it was never that person in body!!

Especially after going to all the work of password protecting my purchases –                   !!!

I am so disgusted with everyone involved, everyone has become tainted in my view now.

, healthy weight    and     food is a LIE!!!!!!

So hurt!

You have done a terrible job of protecting your investment.

Now, I am sick from the inside out.

Congratulations on destroying my trust and belief in you, in all of you.

This doesn’t make any sense.  I turn                                    and there is a      sign,                   , and a black man with a moustache.  I turn     and there is a boy-man walking a dog.  To me they are each exactly the same.

In my head I hear, I didn’t know.  Then, a David-ish person walks by.  Whatever that is supposed to mean.  You all knew what was planted in my house, you all knew the harm that was going to come to me, and no one did anything to prevent it, or keep me from harm’s way.

A silverfish in my fucking wine?!

I don’t know how many years I have to scream NO!  At the top of my lungs.  No means no.  That fucking ceiling vent can go to hell!

I don’t have a choice as far as my parking.  I am not allowed to have the sun or anything else I want.  It has to be damp just to keep the stupid      bull-shit away!

I do not need to be taught or shown anything else!  Enough already!  Isn’t there another story to be told, can’t we all move on?!  Why not just end everything?!  And give me back my life.  When, there is clearly no love lost between any of us.  You don’t hurt those you care about.

I never wanted the limelight to begin with.  I never wanted this life!  I never agreed or signed up for any of my life to be taken from me.  I shouldn’t have to scream at the top of my lungs constantly!  No means no!  I shouldn’t be tricked into doing something when I’ve already said over and over no BABIES, no 1,2 3, no Twilight series, no diapers, no to everything previous!!  No to all of it!  You can tell Art to go take a walk, I want nothing to do with him anymore.  Art knows the value of nothing!

I am not an actor, not a singer, not a writer, not a performer I am not any of those things anymore!  Because of all of this I can’t even stand to look at myself in the mirror.

Give me back my life, so I can move on with my life.

I am so pissed at being treated with such disrespect and ill-feeling for my humanity.

So upset still!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cherith J Gjestland

Every Saturday

I leave for work and my neighbor has their blinds open, then I come home to find out someone has messed with my laundry, or soap, or food, or beauty products.  So, here I am again another paycheck spending another $50, $60, $100 on locks for security to keep them out of my life for good!  How does this happen?  How does someone get to keep entering my hom because I am not there?

The last time I bought gas at Flying J, the next day the gates no longer worked for me.  Then, I called my HOA and got Chelsea Handler instead telling me she was at Wal-Mart and couldn’t get me a code to allow me to use my own gates.  UGH!!!!  So, why oh why, would I go back?

Why am I not allowed to have my own home, and not have it used as a set.

Here’s the other routine I go through…dog food, dog food, cat litter, cat litter, electric pressure washing, dog food, dog food, cat litter, cat litter, electric pressure washing,…these things are lost on me anymore.

Brain Mush

David,

I don’t know how else to get this message across other than addressing it to you.

Do you even have any concept of how tired I am.

They have over-used my brain.  They have over-used the access to my brain.  They have over-used the blue tooth, so now my brain feels mushy all the time.

All these years – wasted.  I am so tired of watching movies all the time.  I am so tired of sitting and watching while I could have had a real life.  I could have learned another language by now, learned the piano, among the many other things I wanted to do.  Instead of spending all these years driving nowhere and getting nowhere.

There isn’t any reason why I didn’t the job as Sales Trainer at The Container Store.  There isn’t any reason why I didn’t even get an interview for management jobs and positions.  I have years and years of experience.

I shouldn’t have to be going through a bankruptcy because I should have a job that can actually pay me to stay alive.

Here is how the pattern goes:  I apply for other jobs because I don’t know how else to get the message through how unbearably miserable and grossly unhappy I am.  Then, with all the information from surveys and questions my interactions are fashioned and scripted from that information.  As if they should EVER be connected.

Do you know I have a memory of you walking out the door at The Container Store as Alfredo, you turned back to wave.  I could barely control how angry I was at you, angry for lying, angry for the deception, and angry because you truly do not care, or I wouldn’t be here like this.

Is it really someone else’s job to monitor if I’ve washed my duvet cover, or cleaned my cat box, or mopped the floor, or exercised, or showered, or bathed, or masturbated?!!  You actually pay someone to do that?!  You’re fucking joking?!  And, for how many years now?!

I removed you and James Franco and everyone else from my game for a reason.  I want to get away from you.  I want to move on from you.  How can you possibly expect me to even have feelings for you as a friend I once knew in college after you’ve deceived me for so many years?!

The only explanation I will ever believe when it comes to Edison is that you believed I needed help in dating, and thinking about other men as possibles.  When all I wanted to do was thank you for the time we spent in college.  Instead, you most severely shut the door in my face when you called me delusional.  Let alone all the times you’ve drugged me including the Harry and David wine I received for Thanksgiving.

I am sick of all the bad dreams and waking up to nightmares that are not of my own making.

Do you know I spent months writing to who I thought was Jeremy Renner.  Every one of my days off I was writing and writing and for what purpose?!  Only to find out it never went anywhere, and now you want me to write it all over again?!

You cannot model a person’s life after a Sims Game because in a Sims Game I can sell off a part of my house, or an appliance, and it doesn’t create a problem.  You cannot do that in real life.  Plus, I actually have feelings.  I cannot simply push a button commanding myself to mop the floor or take a shower WHEN I DON’T EVEN HAVE A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!

I could care less that I spoke with Brad Pitt who was disguised as Tommy at The Home Depot talking about climbing the roof.  He said, he didn’t like having to climb the ladder which I know he was referring to the time – I believe it was in Louisiana – when I was led, funneled, corralled, steered into a park with a boat ramp and a water tower, and I climbed the water tower because I could.  However, I hadn’t eaten in days, nor had I showered or slept in days since I was sleeping in my car.  The stretched-out loafers I was wearing nearly fell off my feet with every rung.  So, not only did I have to grab the ladder with my arms, but I had to grip my shoes with my toes each step.  I thought I might pass out.  I was shaking when I got down only because of the physical stress and not because I was scared.  I still don’t know why I was sent to do any of those “things.”  It was a perfectly pleasant conversation with Brad Pitt which is just as I would have directed the conversation to be.  It wasn’t like the conversation with Jonah Hill who was jumping up and down inside begging me to guess.  And, I remember Brad Pitt knocking his wedding ring on the door frame.  I know this wedding speak is just a coded word for a job.  You would not believe how excited everyone got at Disney whenever they popped in my brain.  Again, jumping up and down, saying his name over and over again.  I mean, come on.

Nor, do I care when it was James Franco who shook my hand placing his right thumb first causing me to say, I hope I didn’t break your thumb.  And, I remember coming back here to this house after that terrible trip where I didn’t get to go to ANY of the places I wanted to visit, explore, or see – lying in bed because I was in such a dark place I was trying to reconnect to my former personable self when I started daydreaming and I ran my thumb over a beautiful man’s lower lip as I went to kiss him.  Nor, do I care that I was watching Spider-Man that night doing laundry when I connected or figured it out that – that Tommy was James Franco.  I was so indignant at being lied to again.

I do not care about seeing, speaking, or conversing with any of these actors, celebrities, or famous people.  I would rather have been there when my mother died.  I would rather have been at her real funeral.  These are short sentences, but I want you to know how deeply I feel them.

I will not be able to look at you in same way again because of it.

I was kept away from my family.  I was kept away from my mother as she was dying.  I was lied to about how and when she died, and you were and are apart of it.

This is what I told my brother about the Edison experience when I discovered you used a skin suit person to simulate sex with me back in 2014, I wrote it in many different forums, and I have repeated it many, many times.  I would rather have been beaten within an inch of my life, and left on the street for dead than to ever have to go through or have that experience.  Beating me to death, I could understand.  But, placing a skin suit faux person in my bed, I will never understand.  It is a horrible, horrible crime done to me.  Then, shortly after that you deny me access to visit my mother, be with her as she is dying, and then do not allow me to go to her real funeral.  All so, what?!  Some one could fake film it.

You have become forever changed in my eyes because of Edison, and what happened with my mother.

How does this happen?  How did you allow someone complete control over my life, my job, my finances, my love life, my emails, my mail, my food, the very air I breathe – and, there is NO OVERSIGHT, they are accountable to NO ONE?!

I am tired.  I am spent.  I have more work to do than I could ever finish.

I am tired of yelling at you.

I will never stop asking for my life back.

This should never have happened.  It should never happen to any person ever again.  There should never be another real company, but fake job – just like your Facebook posting of a faux Starbucks where people lined up for coffee.

I remember you on the phone David, as I was walking by going to Starbucks to get my coffee for lunch with you yelling, I hope you find what you’re looking for.

I remember you wearing a yellow shirt as I drove by Characters In Flight.

Please let me go.  Please let me be a real person again.

My Best Beauty Buys

So, I enjoy trying new beauty products and seeing the best version of me.  I am going to be starting another series of postings with sharing my opinions on the beauty products I purchase.  It is one way of keeping my products safe from alteration.

I do enjoy Sephora, it is nice doing business with companies that offer freebies as suggestions to encourage other products and so forth.  I purchased their monthly sample products and here is what I have tried so far.

Origins Clear Improvement – Not the best smell, bit it did tighten my skin and appear as though my pores were reduced.  However, it did nothing for the unnatural bags that appear under my eyes.  If you ever see me with bags under my eyes it is not naturally occurring to me.  Someone else is to blame.  Either Origins could do better on their product or someone else is to blame.

Burberry fragrance – Fragrance has become someone else’s issue in my life.  However, this is not a bad smell.  It smells feminine which is better than I have smelled in quite some time.  It is not overpowering.  It’s nice.

Sephora Lip Luxury – Yuck!  Waxy feeling when I applied this.  Not worth trying a second time.  Threw it away!
